I’ve given up on the idea of a Chaney/Pittman thing happening. It would be too perfect for us to pull it off... even just Chaney would be too much to ask, imo. If we’re making a doable hire that’ll make folks say “damn! We’re finally serious about winning again!!” It’s either Briles, Kitchens or bust. If there’s anyone other than those two that could generate positive energy among the fanbase I can’t think of their name.
So... Locksley just gets to sky on outta there while Saban makes us wait deep into the recruiting cycle to get Pruitt?? Same for UGa & Kirby but lets Kiffin out to go to FAU? I’m noticing a trend there....
Locksley left a few weeks prior to the playoffs. Hard for me to believe we are letting Yurcich hang around for a meaningless bowl game or Chaney wait until after early signing day or Kitchens wait until after the NFL season for a team that’s already out of the playoffs.
I’m convinced Yurcich is playing UT for a raise, as is the custom among Cowpokes of that ilk.... he has no interest in leaving the leisurely lifestyle he’s become accustomed to in Stillwater for the SEC grind that would be demanded of him here.
No reason not to announce Canada if it’s him. Honestly, no reason not to announce any of the three if the deal is actually done, which I doubt is the case. I think Briles is still on the table.
