Question 17. Are you ready for some (high school) football?

A number of former TSSAA "Mr. Football" award winners have been prominent players on Tennessee's football team, including Andy Kelly, Todd Helton, Travis Stephens and Chad Clifton. This 1990 Class 2A winner from Milan went on to letter four years at UT. Name him.

It was Terrell Davis

 

No google. He won it back when Mr. Football was only one per class and there were only like 3 classes and saved the UGA game in 92.

You sure? Hearst was the starter, Davis didn't play that much that year.

How sure are you it was Hearst? DH claims it was Davis. I think you are right, though.

 

50%, but I do know that TD didn't play all that much that year.

'92; stripping the fumble with like :30 seconds left. UGA would've been in a position to kick the tying field goal, but Kidd came in and stripped it.

The player was Hastings, not Hearst, or Davis.

 

The standings are stickied, but it is currently Groves 4, You 3, InV 3.

 

I was closer than DH. I got the first letter right, lol. I also thought I remembered Onterrio Smith taking back a kick when it was Leonard Scott.

Did you know that off the top of your head?

 

No problem. The reason I asked is because some blogger also incorrectly identified Hearst as the fumbler when it was not. (Incidentally, someone else on the interwebs identified Davis). These inaccuracies are perfectly googlizable, hence my concern.

It is, 100-percent, Hastings, however.

 

Damn it. I go to grade papers for a couple of hours and look what happens. LOOK. WHAT. HAPPENS.


Of course, I didn't know this one anyway.
