The current commander of the ISS is a UT grad. Well I think he's still up there, I can't remember when he is coming home.
Astronauts are lazy, thieving government employees. That is how part of our population sees everything now.
I know, we are referring to the comments section. Any government employee is trash according to some.
That is who the article is about. He has his first few degrees from Tn Tech. Thus the golden eagle in space comment. But also a UT grad.
He was the keynote speaker at UT Engineering Day a couple of weeks ago. I took 15 students. They all really enjoyed his broadcast from the ISS as did I.
To be fair, unless you connected the name or the TN angle, then you wouldn't catch it. I skimmed a bit too but I don't think it came out and said he was commanding the ISS.
my mother-in-law was at tenn tech this past weekend for their sports hof induction, a co-worker of hers was being inducted. they mentioned that another inductee was unable to attend due to a work related trip out of town, thats when he popped up on the jumbo tron(or whatever it was) live from the iss. thought that was pretty cool.
Somewhat reminded of Seinfeld stand up line, "There's no more male idea in the history of the universe then let's fly to the moon and drive around." Except now we're manning a space station to watch college football. God bless America.
