I think he has been told things by people close to the program. That doesn't mean he knows the truth.

 

Maggitt definitely hit him. And I would say the Orta/Lane thing likely happened too. AJ/Maggit/Lane/Orta were all roommates at the time of the events so it makes total sense why these names surfaced with the Bowles incidents.
