I've been calling 8 wins for a few weeks now. I just don't think Ole Miss and SC are going to be good enough to think we can't win those games. That said, I am firmly convinced they win some game they have no business winning this year.

And probably with good reason. I'll give him next year to turn things around, but if he's going to make things happen here, we're going to see flashes this year. Maybe if our good games are one-possession losses to OU, UGA, Bama, and South Carolina, and we just play badly in the more winnable games, like Florida and Missouri, maybe we can go 5-7 and it not be a giant waving red flag. But most likely, 5-7 is cause to jump off the bandwagon.

Going into November with a 3-6 record and needing to win out to become bowl eligible while coming off 3 straight losses scares the shit out of me.

We need to upset Florida or OM along the way so it doesn't come down to that.

 

If the past (last season) is any indication of the future (this season), there will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth amongst Vol fans.
