Harbaugh was hired by SF four days before Hoke was hired by Michigan.

he surely can get any nfl job he wants. I doubt he has the desire to go back to college.

It also took Gary Patterson a few years to make the adjustment from mid major to power conference.

Speaking of which, I'd love to have Patterson at UT.

I have no idea, honestly. But if he were going to go back, he'd go to Michigan.

wittingham was on the hot seat at Utah up until this year. if we wins the south then I buy it. But I see a 7-5 team. I think tcu would beat Utah by 2 or 3 tds.

obviously he preferred the NFL to Michigan once. It's not as though the 49ers were considered a great team before he got there.

I like him, but giving him that huge contract extension was pure stupidity.

    He's a good offensive coordinator

Eh, the state of an NFL franchise is irrelevant. A guy takes an NFL job because it's the next challenge. And some don't end up liking it and they come back ot the college ranks. Saban and Spurrier come to mind.

I pray to all things sacred Chip Kelly doesn't come back to college at an SEC school.

how many successful NFL coaches have come back to college? walsh is the only one I can think of and that was more of a retirement thing.

He did better in Lubbock his first year than Tubs did in three. I'm not sure it's even possible for Texas Tech to field a decent defense.

Could be the only one; I can't think of another off the top of my head. But just because Harbaugh is successful doesn't mean he prefers coaching NFL over college. And I'm not saying that he does or he doesn't. But it wouldn't shock me if he came back to college.

Tubs had some awful defenses. Leach had a decent one the year he did so well.

What do you mean? A place where he can get away with focusing on nothing but offense?
