We are having the meal at our house this year. Thinking about boiling a country ham (have done before) besides Honey Baked anybody got any other thoughts on what to do for the main course ? Will need to feed about 12-13 people. Other ways to cook ham etc...
you can doctor up a costco ham for 1/3 of the price of honey baked. i can't really taste the difference personally.
Last year I got a smoked and sliced turkey breastes from a bbq place, split it into 4 or 5 sections, made varuous marinades or rubs and reheated in foil. Family loved it and finished all of it. Usually there is a ton of Turkey left.
been thinking of doing this. is it already prepared and you are just heating it in the smoker or are you doing it from scratch?
I hate ham, so I bake a turkey. Brine it for several hours, put it in a smoking hot oven for thirty minutes or so to brown it then turn the heat down till the bird hits about 155. Let the carry over finish it, rest it, carve it, eat it.
I prefer ham in a sandwich as a complement to another type of meat. As far as a stand alone food, I can’t really eat much of it.
