7 wasn't great, it was Episode 4 Part 2, but it was at least an enjoyable movie. Episode 8 is far and away the worst Star Wars movie ever made, that includes the Christmas special.
I liked episode 7. Thought it was a nice homage to the old ones with some new characters. I didn’t hate 8 either. I do think 90% of the now-Legends EU is better than the direction the movies went
I'm going to ponder this, but at first glance I agree. Still trying to figure out the purpose she served.
You'll enjoy it. It's no different than The Force Awakens. Abrams played it safe with a mix of nostalgia and the new characters, it works.
4 is a great movie. 6 is not 4 or 5 but it still good 1 is a lot better 20 years later than I gave it credit for at the time. 7 was a decent set up into a new trilogy if 8 wasn't awful. 2 and 3 both served their purpose and would be viewed better if not for horrible, horrible acting Solo was a heist flick in space. Was never to be anything like the others.
It was sooooo bad. I mean. BAD. I think Lucas gave them the script in the morning, did one take before lunch and called it a day.
The premise of each was fine. We knew where we were going and had to get there somehow. I thought getting there from the wide view was ok. Up close in the nitty-gritty? Lord have mercy.
They were poorly done. Excessively long and boring. Action sequences were mostly dull. Very little suspense throughout that whole 11 hour trilogy.
I remember in Attack of the Clones there is a scene early on where an assassin tries to kill Padme and then Obiwan and Anakin chase him. It was like 40 minutes long and just boring as hell. Really set the tone for the movie.
Geonosis is a chapter you want to be so much better than it is. In the end, you’re just left wondering the difference between a yellow and red clone trooper commander.
