If the guy was in the shape he claimed, he was either going to die from the virus or the drug.

It definitely needs to continue to be tested and observed but in critical cases at this point Im not sure you have anything else to lose other than possibly saving lives and at worst gaining more information.

 

I'm sure American presidents have said a metric ton of dumb shit during their time in office.

Depending on how this winds up, Trump saying it would go down from 15 to 0 could rank fairly high. That and calling scoreboard against Obama's H1N1 response approximately 12 minutes into a pandemic.

 

One anecdote does not a cure make, though. I hope it is true, I really do. But I am not going to get happy over this, not yet.

Given the bad news we seem to get more than not these days, I'll take it as truth and good news until then. Even if its an isolated event.

Imo, its been used on more patients than we are aware.
Its also a drug commonly prescribed for rheumatoid arthritis. As long as patients can ask for it off label, at least some lives will be saved until the fda and research companies complete their checklists. I know if i or a family member heads towards pretty sick, we will be asking for it, especially if the alternative is soon to be death.

I'm seeing a few of these pieces start to trickle out from smart people.

Mitigating the first wave with drastic measures appears to be a smart move. Numbers are *hopefully* showing that we don't have exponential growth on a second wave.

I finally blew a lima bean sized chunk of dead skin and scab out of my left nostril. I can still feel a piece flapping around up there, tickling my sinuses. I need ot out asap.
