Sorry runner up. I mean no way we would look at Manning if he were having coaching success at a historical top 10 program
He’s part of that group that trashes UT fans every chance he gets so not surprised. We’ve probably made him a lot of money.
This would be the most Tennessee thing ever. We would end up panic hiring some 16-18 coach from the MAC.
With zero knowledge of the situation, I've never been more certain about anything in my life than I am that Heupel will be in Norman next year because Tennessee.
Too much character. He and family love knoxville. He will get a raise. And owing Danny White more than 1 year. He is in Knoxville until we run him off.
Don’t ever underestimate what it means to coach your alma mater. Again, I don’t think the timing is right for him. But to act like there is no chance is extremely naive.
Your point about timing is why. After 3 or 4 years at UT and after dude hired at OK now gets his ass handed to him in the SEC and newness/excitement has worn off for JH, sure. Just not right now. He's preached a lot about culture to pull a kiffin and I think hes a different dude than most coaches. All jmo of course.
He’s saying all the right things. And he’s doing a great job with the shit hand he was dealt. But again… when home calls, you can throw a lot of that out the window and it’s ultimately a business decision. For example… I despise the hell out of my alma mater’s administration. Like to the point I hate their [uck fay]ing guts. But… that job comes open tomorrow? I’m going to talk. And if the mood strikes just right, I’m on board.
Why would he want to rebuild a program from the ground up here when he can take what I assume is his dream job and have a fully loaded roster tomorrow? If he leaves, can we blame him?
He'd be stupid not to and that's cause for concern. Aside from me jokingly being over dramatic, I honestly think he stays in Knoxville.
