Glad the man is getting paid and we have him locked up for a bit, but damn I feel old because I remember how big of a deal it was and all the consternation when Oklahoma gave Stoops a 2 million dollar salary in 2001.
it is the world we live in. I think it is just not sustainable to keep growing at this rate, but my biggest concern was an 8 or 10 year contract. I feared that more than anything.
Hah, mine would immediately be calling a contractor to tear down our shed and build her a full sized shop, and fill it with the best wood working equipment money could buy.
I've said it for 5 or 6 years yet it keeps happening. As long as networks are willing to pay obscene amounts of money, it's going to continue.
If he keeps winning it will be a good ROI. (increased ticket sales, merchandizing, out of state tuition, etc.)
Phew that’s a lot of money. Remember when we laughed at Alabama for paying a failed NFL coach $4 million a year to cover up their inability to land RichRod? (in fairness, there was some fear behind those laughs) But it’s the cost of doing business these days. Glad we’re not on the fully guaranteed train, though I hope he has enough success that it doesn’t matter.
