I’m going to say I am about 2-3% concerned about this development. https://theathletic.com/4536034/2023/05/19/usc-mike-bohn-resigns/
White has the best contract of any AD in the country and it rolls over every year with a five year guarantee and 200k+ raise every year.
All we have to do is not hire an imbecile. We should be OK. Always felt like we wouldn't be here that long.
I can’t claim to know what drives Danny White. Maybe the prestige would be too much to say no to. I know I’m biased because I grew up in Knoxville and went to Auburn so SEC country is all I’d ever want. With that said, I could make a pretty damn good argument that leaving Tennessee for USC is silly. Most of the pros for doing so are purely shallow surface level things.
I hate to break it to you but I just turned 30 and until recently it was just imbeciles hiring imbeciles since I was a little kid. I wouldn’t underestimate the possibility of continued f**k ups in the future.
You’re right but we at least spent big [penis] money to get the best possible AD at the time in DW. Hoping things have turned the corner.
Tennessee is a top job and Danny has basically 100% control and very little booster interference. He will only get that at a handful of schools right now and USC is not one of them. I think he all but retires at Tennessee.
And Randy Boyd is absolutely the kind of university president that you want to work under as an AD. I can't imagine that there would be a better president around the country to have in your corner as an AD than Boyd.
No clue why you want to get into state/federal politics and all that goes with it when you can sit there, smoke a cigar every October and have everyone love you instead of hate you.
