The Missouri game scares me because they are decent and going to Missouri and playing in that garbage stadium with a shit environment is always a game where teams always seem to show up unmotivated.
Heupel wants to demolish Missouri every time they play, he takes it personally that they didn't offer him the hc job
Yeah. 4 wide with Bru, Squirrel, Hyatt and Ced vs 4 wide with Nimrod, Squirrel, Webb and Castles. No doubt Milton’s issues but also no doubt he’d look better. Weapons and protection make a difference. also had Cooper, good RG and 1st round RT and our OL has been a mess.
Not saying we are an awesome O, but we're not "so offensively challenged". We got some pieces. We look better when Milton is running.
The only things which have really concerned me with Heupel are the soft defenses from time to time, loyalty to a bad DB coach, and OL recruiting. Given that any coach has deficiencies, the fact I can count my worries on one hand is pretty good and a far deal better than anyone in the recent past who roamed the sidelines of Neyland (or sat on a stool).
By my count we've scored 18 touchdowns in 33 red zone attemps. Take out UVA and that goes to 11 of 26. There's some offensive challenges.
we don’t have a wr we can hit with a fade. We don’t trust the qb to throw between hashes even though shoulda had a hold on Castles attempt last game. Qb run hasn’t done anything down there and our rollout plays suck. We basically need to run it 4 plays and hope to get 2.5 ypc, but it’s usually into a run blitz because the D knows everything I just mentioned.
Probably had at least 1 trick play drawn up for Bama that, in the moment early in the game, didn't feel necessary, but that we regretted not using once we got to the end of the game and saw we weren't scoring again.
We basically have an average QB with average receivers. One group could make the other better if they were good or great, but alas.
