I'd love to have him but I don't know. Have just always felt we have been in the running to keep the negative reaction down until he can get out of town.

Maybe early on…but I think proximity really mattered/matters.

According to the mother, 4* WR Josh Malone will have his mind made up tonight. #Clemson #FSU #Georgia #Tennessee

It probably is. I just saw an opening for "Free Shoes" and took it.

It's Nashville. He wouldn't have much to deal with from the locals.

If he picks UT that will have to have been a big factor. If I put myself in his place and am a 4 or 5* receiver with dreams of going to the NFL I don't know if I risk all that signing with a team that doesn't even have an average QB to throw me the ball. Say what you will about Butch bringing the Vols back to the top, you aren't going to do that with the QB talent on this roster. And as of today they don't have a QB commit. That's what worries me. If the QB's on the roster do have the talent then I would question the player development by this staff. Neither Worley nor Dobbs got any better as the season went on. Worley maybe a bit but not enough. It would have to be a big jump in development like when Kiffen and Co came in an straightened Crompten out. He sucked for three years and after getting a competent QB coach there was drastic improvement.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but does Clemson (I'm saying Clemson because he has now narrowed it to us and them publicly) have a big time QB waiting in the wings to take over for Boyd ?

    They have one committed.

Their incoming QB seems like he'd be a great fit for UT's offense. I wonder if UT would have any chance to get in his ear if Chad Morris leaves Clemson. I'm guessing probably not.

That top QB they have is close with Malone and one if the big reasons Malone is high on Clemson.

Just can't see a kid that has been on our campus 10+ times in the past 2 years saying I want to play for Dabo ****ing Swinney at the last moment.
