We dominate many sports people don't grow up playing naturally and are non revenue sports here yet are more popular overseas. Things like track and field, swimming, gymnastics, etc. Americans clearly don't care for this sport which is fine by me.
According to this they are ranked 37th in the world. http://m.fifa.com/worldranking/rankingtable/index.html
Droski, you know I respect your opinion on a lot of subjects, but if you are bringing FIFA rankings into this, you are clearly outclassed.
Just to give two quick reference points as to how worthless these rankings are, Switzerland is currently ranked 6th, and Spain, who fell completely on their face and are eliminated after two games are the #1 team. Also, didn't the US enter one WC (maybe 2006) ranked in the top 10? In short, they're the very definition of meaningless.
I have a pretty good idea as to the popularity of the sport in this country. I couldn't give two shits about the rest of it.
Are we now dominating youth soccer internationally? Since it's so popular with the kids? The answer is no right?
This is the equivalent of arguing that Tennessee doesn't care about men's basketball because our women's basketball team has been more successful.
