I think they want to shore up the middle infield and might be interested in an outfielder too. They should have some freedom to be creative now.
The wife couldn't understand why the first thing I did today was come home and throw away the pujols ornament.
Yes, I am. I've tried to be reasonable about this, but let me be overreactionary and a total homer fan for 5 minutes please. Ironically enough, it looks like he's still going to maintain perm residence in St. Louis.
Dude, get that ornament out of the trash and thank it... for saving you 200+ million dollars on a raw deal. You got the best years out of him, now hit it and quit it like a man.
Seems the Pujols family is going with the "anger entire fanbase" exit strategy - Deidre Pujols speaks up about split with Cardinals
I agree with that. But her saying that they didn't receive a 9-10 year offer is, well, flat out wrong.
Carlos beltran, the man singled-handedly responsible for taking 5 years off my life from the 04-06 playoffs, is now a cardinal. Granted about 5 years after id loved to have had him.
I suppose if he can play in 130 games, bat. 280 and hit 25 homers it'll be worth it. Initial assumption is he'll bat second. If they can stay healthy, that's a pretty good lineup if you think about it. Need to look to see who are the FAs after 2012.
