The ones I've met are definitely a different breed. You can tell immediately why they are in that position and you aren't.
It's hysterical when my accounting professors glorify becoming a CFO. 1. Very few can make it there. 2. Most who can probably don't want to, whether they realize it or not.
I don't like being a douchebag. That was a joke. It just isn't my bag. Just like shoveling shit isn't my bag. But I have shoveled mire than my share of it.
Let me rephrase, you certainly don't have to. I just genuinely don't understand why you feel something that was already taxed should be taxed again, even more so, just so someone can inherit less money.
My wife's friend is a vp of reporting for a fairly large utility. She works 12 hour days 8am to 8pm. Goes home , puts the kids to bed, and then works from home till midnight. It's insane. She makes a crapload more money than i do and earns every penny.
I suspect that he started out the same place as the rest of use and through life choices is doing what he wants to do; just like the CEO did. It is stupid to complain about the career choice of the CEO just as it would be stupid of a CEO to complain about the career choice of him.
I don't hate CEOs or their choices. I just think that msny of them are overpaid. I also think pro athletes are overpaid and I still like a lot of them.
I have mixed feelings seeing first hand in my profession how most people react when they know they are getting a bunch of money they didn't earn. On the other hand, I can't say the govt will put it to better use.
Logic would tell you, as voldad suggested, that if people are overpaid, you'd see a lot of people flock to the profession and drive down salaries.
Then if compensation is your motivation it sounds like you took the wrong career path. Plenty of time to change.
