Why does the God you worship have a problem with 2 consenting adults loving each other?

The judge in this case has been receiving death threats and currentl has a small mob of people "holding him in contempt of god's court" outside his home.

Apparently this is a matter of religious persecution?

I've hated it for a long time. People shouldn't get married for the tax advantages.

Tennessee county seeks protection from 'God's wrath' over same-sex marriage

(CNN)They say it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission. Tonight, a Tennessee county wants to do just that.

The Blount County Commission has a full agenda planned at its meeting tonight: Deal with budget issues. Restructure committees. Approve a resolution condemning judicial tyranny.

    And petition God's mercy.

Apparently some in Blount -- a county of 122,00 people, just south of Knoxville -- still aren't happy about the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling this summer that legalized same sex marriage nationwide.

So, Commissioner Karen Miller has sponsored a resolution that both slams the Supreme Court and begs for God to spare the county when He eventually, goes the reasoning of the resolution, destroys America over same sex marriage.

It always has to be Tennessee, doesn't it?

So is it that they don't think God hears their personal prayers and hearts, or that they are hypocrites that pray loudly on street corners so that they can be seen by men (Matt 6:5)?

They're making a mockery of their own beliefs. We are living in the age of Pharisees.

    Sighs.

I so want to go over to this meeting tonight. They got the tax increases they wanted. Guess they needed to stay relevant somehow.

    So Roy Moore of Alabama...

    One bigot gone...

Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore's defiance of federal court rulings on gay marriage violated judicial ethics, a disciplinary court ruled on Friday before suspending him for the rest of his term.

The punishment effectively removes Moore from office without the nine-member Alabama Court of the Judiciary officially ousting him. Given his age, he will not be able to run for chief justice again under state law.

    1. I believe a Judge for the State of Alabama should uphold the laws of the State of Alabama, and that if he does not, he should be removed from office.

    2. I do not think that believing that the definition of marriage is the same today as it has been since the beginning of human civilization, a definition which requires participants to be of different sexes, necessarily makes a person a bigot.

    2. is based on a false premise. Marriage has not been the same since the beginning of human civilization, and marriage hasn't even been the same across civilizations and cultures.
