"Last play! Last play!" *play is ran* "We can't quit on that!" *hour later* "Huddle up, good practice!"
Happens all the time, coach gets pissed at the way it started, starts it over to get their attention. Works most of the time. It's more about effort than anything else.
I've heard that Jones isn't on the microphone as much...and is actually allowing his assistants to do some corching. Good first step, if true, and not 4 years too late.
The best was the open practice a few years ago when Jones blabbed on the mic the whole time, then tried to teach the fans in attendance some kind of clap-chant cheer thing we were supposed to do to celebrate first downs. Presumably he planned to carry it over into regular season game. Essentially no one a the practice did it and it was abandoned. He probably went to the trophy store and had them express fabricatea Life Championship trophy.
Jennings is apparently coaching more than Jones. Wells is Butch 2.0 (yells a bunch and knows jack shit) Meachem was present and really likes JJ (no surprise there) Kelly is killing it but unless the incoming freshman is lights out we will be screwed if he goes down.
I don't believe in practicing over 2 1/2 hours and I think 2 is the sweet spot. I give out PIE after practice on their time. Generally after the first week you don't have any more issues to deal with at practice.
Well, they're stupid because UGA got Elijah Holyfield, who was one of the most sought after recruits in the country.
PIE? Not heard of that. I tend to agree on your practice time philosophy. Law of diminishign returns sets in when you hit a certain point.
