It probably wouldn't be a big deal if this wasn't excuse #10,567 over the last five years from this guy. Give me a break with this nuance stuff, he's trying to lower expectations yet again.
I really think it's gonna take a loss to a USCe, Mizzou, Vandy, UK, someone like that for it to all go to pot. 7-5 with a loss to one of the above and that will get him fired. 8-4 and I think he's back. I am posting this because I am usually wrong on this stuff and want to be wrong again, because I'd be shocked if we went 9-3 or better.
It's not a train. It's a bus, a short one. Otherwise, I believe you are completely correct. If it's a blowout, the Butch haircut will come back in style with the fan base. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
Sadly, this is true. The quickest path to Tennessee fielding a championship caliber football team again would start with a 3 or 4 TD loss in Gainesville on Saturday.
I'll be rooting against our best interests on Saturday. Now if we get down a couple of scores, though, I'll be hoping the Gators pour it on.
He wins 8 he's coming back. He wins Saturday he's gonna have to drop 2 out 3 to UK, Vandy, and SC to drop under 8. 7 or less IMO.
Win tomorrow and I'm still not convinced he wins 8. Eventually the d line playing every snap will come back to bite him. Lose tomorrow and 5 and 7 becomes a possibility.
If he can keep the team somewhat together I think the floor is 6-6. But, if they lose in typical Butch fashion Saturday the wheels may come off.
Maybe I'm just an optimist (or pessimist at this point?), but I just can't see how we lose to 7 teams on this schedule.
