I have a Nova that is 18 years old and still gets the job done. My main duck gun is the new A5 though.
Have SBE and Extrema. Love both. Shoot the SBE better. Even shelved my little Citori for dove and quail because I can pound with that SBE.
I had a bad experience with a Super 90 back in 2005, and I've been gun shy on Benelli since. But, I'll try anything three times. So we'll see. If it does what it did in 2005, it's going straight to the garbage, ATF be damned.
It’s my favorite shotgun on earth. I started on a beautiful Ted Williams o/u 20 ga. as a kid (my Dad got it for himself when he was younger and still maintains it ridiculously) and that Citori was the first gun I’ve had surpass that one. The SBE is just flat shoot better. In fact, the others don’t come out of the safe any more.
I had two fail to cycle on two critical plays. But I gave it some leadership reps on mixed downs of cripples and teal. Came away with a lot more understanding of the M2 process, and a full bag of mallards, teal, gadwalls and a mountable wood duck.
Everyone is culling the teal this weekend. Killed a pintail this morning, so that’ll be it for the season. Missed a black duck. Be another 6 years before we see another of those.
