I'm glad Shoop choose to come to UT to coach under Jones.

Now I wonder who is next in line for the Oklahoma job.

 

He could have stayed at PSU and still been at the top of their list... Why come to UT? Isn't his family mostly still in the Nashville area?

I don't really see Butch getting fired if he goes 9-3 this season, but it will make it pretty clear to most knowledgeable people that he's sinking. No buyout means he can jump ship and not have his current image as a solid DC tarnished by Butch's downward spiral.

 

James Franklin has less job security than Butch.

 

True but if he's leaving in a year or two to take a HC job it doesn't matter where he spends those two years...

 

Why not bring your family back to a state they loved and make the move easier when it happens.

Too true. Nothing whatsoever in Pennsylvania for me. I thought Shoop's family already lived in Tennessee. May be wrong about that. In any event, I'd take a kick in the nuts every day living in Tennessee over a handjob every day living in Pennsylvania....

I'm not sure...lots of guys who had been fairly successful elsewhere flamed out under the last 2 clowns.

I liken it to being a subordinate to Braxton Bragg or Ambrose Burnside. If the HMFIC is an idiot, you're right there with him.
