Appears that this is shaping up to be another strong DL haul. It appears we have a really good shot at Derrick Brown. He recently said it was his mother's decision to make Tennessee the last visit. May not mean anything but does seem interesting.

There's another Simmons kid from MS it sounds like we have a shot with also. I think he's a DE

No argument here, but Butch said as much when he hired him. The guy's 'been there' in a championship run and his guys haven't. He wanted him to set the tone when it mattered. It's stupid as hell because bring the guy in as a consultant if that's what you want.

 

Butch was coach speaking his typical horsectap to make it sound like there was thought involved and that it was the right decision. Same crap he does with his 7 hour chart reading to go for 1. He's simply not a bright guy.

 

The quid pro quo of Michigan interest and subsequent raise/extension followed by DeBord hire should raise anyone's eyebrows.

With that said, if Butch will continue upgrading the staff as he has done this offseason we should at least see improvement.

 

He's still a car salesman.

Easy. NYY is territorial of his business. Like the Mafia but dressed in a pink sailor suit instead of a black suit.

 

Even GBC stays out of his closet.

 

Like everyone else, I didn't think Jones had the stones to fire one his buddies in order to upgrade. Very happy with his hire and hopeful more are on the way.

Totally guessing, but perhaps Hand thought he should get a promotion into the vacated DC spot and gave an ultimatum. I think that is how this happens so often where a coordinator leaves and then a few position coaches take lateral moves to other schools.

 

He was an OL coach.
