Honestly if I had to pick a coordinator job where a relative know-nothing football wise guy like me could have a chance of being adequate it would be Bama DC.
“Uh, so guys it’s third and nine. You all think I should call a blitz here or drop back and play it safe?” “We’re on offense, dumbass.”
I see what you’re saying but since Bama has historically made their reputation as a defensive powerhouse, being the DC there comes with a lot of second guessing and scrutiny. Maybe it’s not the “second toughest” job in all of college athletics but you have to admit, it’s not for the faint of heart and if you can put up with the fishbowl that is Tuscaloosa Alabama you are well prepared to put up with it anywhere else your career trajectory takes you....
Probably already in the convo, I think that would lock it up. Land Bailey im '20 and we've hopefully got a great QB battle in a few years.
And absolutely no credit, because people think it's all Saban. The only other coach that receives no credit on Saban's staffs are the DB coaches
His last four or five defensive coordinators have been big time head coaches. Obviously they are getting some credit.
Yep. IP was referring to Pruitt's attitude. He may never win here but He doesnt make excuses. He mans up and takes responsibility and he'll at least have my respect because of that.
Exactly. That’s how you keep the fanbase from full on hating you. Still got to win to keep your job but when you own up to your mistakes and don’t throw players under the bus, you get a much longer window of patience from me.
