Well, our canoe trip has been affected by this thing now. We normally buy tins of freeze dried food from Mountain House to have for dinner.

Not a can to be found. We are now scrambling to find alternatives. Anyone have any suggestions?

Back in 60's Mountain House was only place you could order freeze dried food for backpacking. Our Scout troop ordered from there for our 50 mile AT trips.

When backpacking in college, we found Top Ramen noodles (box of 10 for $1) to be a lightweight cheap alternative. If you want to add protein I think they have vacuum sealed foil packs of tuna and maybe chicken.

Also, we would take a cup of minute rice in zip lock add all sorts of seasonings add the canned (or foil pack) chicken when cooking.

 

... Vienna Sausages, saltines.

 

I'll also bring up having the boys catch gators to eat.

I had to do an inventory of how many respirators we had on hand today. We do not normally stock nor dispense respiratory protection, and this request was abnormal. I also received through what has become normal distribution the CDC's testing and position on using expired stockpiles of N95 filtering facepieces (dust masks).
