I’m sorry, what? Alvarado gets T’d up for a light headbutt, and Russell gets T’d up for… clapping? What the actual [uck fay] are we even doing?

Is Brandon Ingram injured again? Did I miss something?

LeBron has been awful, and the Lakers deserve to lose this game. Terrible that Zion goes out late injured during his breakout game and first massive playoff performance.

    2021-2022:
Giannis was 45-22 (67% win percentage... 55 win pace)
Embiid was 45-23 (66% win percentage... 54 win pace)
Jokic was 46-28 (62% win percentage... 51 win pace)

Kyrie has not been a part of winning basketball in 8 years and hasn't been a part of significant playoff success with any team that didn't have prime LeBron James on it. And he has actively torpedoed multiple teams in the meantime. I'm not saying Aaron Gordon is better than Kyrie, but you're ignoring reality if you believe that Luka's impact is lessened because he has Kyrie as his wing man.

Also, again, everyone knew the Nuggets, despite their win total, had not shot at playoff success. And that was immediately proven true. The Mavs are a legitimate contender this year, in most people's eyes.

I'm not sure he's a serious MIP candidate. He's an MIP candidate in the same way that Brunson is an MVP candidate. He makes the list, but he's got a 0% shot at winning it. I'm not too worried about this one.

Can't really speak to Hartenstein and whether he deserves all defense or not. I know I haven't heard his name as much as a lot of others, and there are a number of Centers I'd put in front of him without question (I know the rules are different now). Maybe this one is worth being upset over, but at the end of the day, if he's played less than all the guys on the list, that seems to matter.

Wife created a Twitter account the other day. It’s been distracting the shit out of her, so I’ve been telling her to delete it.

Found out today that she followed Wob. Proud husband.

My guy Nick Wright says Lakers in 6, and his logic actually makes some sense.

I think Nuggets in 4 is a crazier pick than Lakers in 6. I know most people here don't actually watch these games, but the amount of shit that had to fall the Nuggets way in order to sweep last year was pretty significant.

Game 1 (in Denver) was a 3 point game with 2:18 remaining and again with 1:12 remaining
Game 2 (in Denver) was a 2 point game with 1:07 remaining
Game 3 (in LA) - the Lakers led by 1 with under 8 to play
Game 4 (in LA) - Lakers missed a game tying shot at the buzzer

    • LeBron was hurt and shooting the ball terribly. He's currently shooting as well as he's shot the ball in his entire career

    • Lakers were clearly gassed, on short rest after 2 longer series wins and having to scrap their way into the playoffs to finish the season. This year they'll get multiple days rest between games twice, and it's the first series of the playoffs.

    • It's hard to explain just how bad D-Lo was in that series.
      • He averaged 6/2/4 on 32% from the field and 13% from 3, after going 17/3/6 on 48% and 41% in the regular season.
      • Maybe he disappears again, but even if they can get 12 points a game from him, it's a drastic improvement.

    • It's also hard to explain just how out of his mind Jamal Murray played in that series.
      • Dude has never made an all star team but averaged 33/6/5 on 53%/41%/95% splits against the Lakers. Those numbers are actually completely bonkers.
      • For reference, he averaged 25 ppg in the previous series against Phoenix and 21 ppg in the following series against Miami.

    • Did you see some of the late-clock shots this dude Jokic was hitting in that game? lol seriously, look:

    • Like, I get it, he makes those sorts of shots sometimes, but come on.
I know everyone likes to make fun about how it was a "competitive" sweep, but there were tons of things that could have gone even slightly differently and impacted one or multiple games.

Lakers gotta feel good about any lead, but with how well LBJ and AD are playing, as well as Murray 3/11 from the field and 2/7 from 3, you’d like it to be larger.

Doesn’t help that Reaves and DLo are 0-7 from 3.

The Jokic/Gru comp is really funny.
