Tennessee getting a lot of love.

Things I noticed after a quick glance:

    Tennessee ranked 13th.

Alabama predicted W-L: 8.7-3.5 vs Tennessee predicted W-L: 8.6-3.7 (10,000 simulations predict us to have basically the same record as Alabama)

    % chance to win conference:
    Alabama 12.9
    LSU 14.4
    UGA 25.5
    TAMU 10.2
    Ole Miss 10.2
    Arkansas 5.6
    Tenn 13.4
    Auburn 2.7
    UF 2.1
    Mizzou 2.2
    Miss St 0.4
    USCjr 0.4
    UK 0.2
    Vandy 0.1

Through 10,000 simulations we are predicted as the 3rd highest to win conference.

This means absolutely nothing, but the computers seem to love us.

Is this the results versus average team thing we had last year?

  5. RockyHill

RockyHill Loves Auburn more than Tennessee.

I don't buy those numbers at all.

he predicts Tenn 2nd in the east to Georgia, 19th in his power poll (25th if you factor in schedule), has you playing in the music city bowl. he doesn't have single vol's position group ranked higher than 3rd in the sec (wrers).

I think that's Nate Silver/fivethirtyeight. They do the Soccer Power Index so the naming format is the same.

Auburn is low, but it makes sense that the East team are inflated... they play in the east

Ignoring our DE's as anything but the best tandem in the conference is silly. Our WRs and DE's are as good as anyone in the conference.

He ranks the dline as a whole 7th in the conference.

if ours is 7th, then the interior just completely sucks, because we're the best on the edges. I don't believe the interior is bad enough to drop us that low and may very well be a strength on this team.

On the other hand he doesn't have a unit ranked lower than 8th (oline). He does rank Butch 11th.

  18. bigpapavol

OLine is probably too high, and Butch only bests Vandy's situation.

He also has Floridia and Kentucky lower which seems resonable
