I feel like I'm beating my head against the wall with you. We're not all that far apart on healthcare. M4A has zero chance of happening. Zero. Healthcare in this country is still jacked up and that's a fact. Something needs to happen and right now a *better public option* is the best we have offered to ensure every American is covered without eliminating plans people want to keep. We also have to lower prescription drug prices and cap out of pocket expenses. Come up with a plan we can pay for and do those things and I'll support it.
I think a forced single payor system would be very unpopular. Hell Denmark and other countries we’re going to be modeling are even going more private due to the inefficiencies of the public model. Americans are not going to love the increase on taxes that these public programs are going to cause. Raising the minimum wage is just going to hurt the lowest even more while incentivizing AI even more to take over those jobs.
