2023 Vols Baseball

How are we so bad at baserunning? Did he have to tag up on that??

 

We had man on 3rd with no outs and get thrown out at home to end the inning?

 

He wasn’t even tagged up. Had to go back, and should have stayed put.

 

Major choke job. Scores easily if he didn't have to tag back at 3rd.

 

100% of the time when you’re on 3rd and less than 2 outs you go back to the bag to tag as soon as you see a ball in the air, and you stay there until either it’s caught or you know for sure it’s going to fall. 10 year olds know this.

 

Our baserunnning looks like that of a bad little league team at times.

 

Gave one away tonight.

 

Pretty bad baseball in every aspect tonight. Definitely didn’t deserve to win the game.

 

Same 3rd base coach as last year? Something is amiss. He’s gotta be reminding the runner nonstop how many outs and be on the bag to tag up. Burke has to as well but doubt he’s been on 3rd in that situation in awhile.

Ethan Payne came in to run. He’s a senior and should know what to do.

 

Aha gotcha. E prolly getting demoted.

 

Mid week games are trouble. Never know what you are going to get.

 

Burke's (or 3BC) decision to go to third was almost as bad as the play at home. They initially called him out then reviewed and overturned it but no idea how they overturned it based on what they were showing us. Couldn't see anything.

 

Can’t single anybody out tonight. They all stunk.

We should go back to hitting 12 bombs a game so we don't have to worry about base running. I wonder if the coaches have considered this strategy.

 

This is what annoys me about Twitter. They jumped on last season and don’t realize how ridiculous that was
