Figured we could have a little game discussion here. Shouldn't be much of a game. But we should get to see how the new defense looks and see how the offense has progressed.
I want to see complete and total domination from start to finish. Appy State isn't a bad football team, but they shouldn't be able to do much of anything against Tennessee. Shoop's D is pretty much a nickel/4-2-5 all the time. It will be interesting to see if he brings a lot of pressure or if it's more of a vanilla look for game one. I'm thinking he's not really going to hold much back. I want to see Kamara and Hurd in the backfield together quite a bit.
Could be very wet. Field conditions will deteriorate rapidly if they don't keep it covered beforehand. Put it out of reach early or it could get weird like bowling green.
I want to see Preston Williams or Jeff George just run a go and Dobbs lay it up for them a few times.
I'm interested to see the defense under Shoop more than anything else. They should be a top 10 defense this year. As for Appy St- pound the ball, take a few deep shots, and cover the spread.
I really want to see the offense. I know this won't be a good team to gauge them against, but I want to see how well they execute.
All I can do for a game like this is to watch the fundamentals. Are we taking good lines to the ball on D, hows the form of our linemen, etc.
