I’d say that you’d likely be seeing 3 SEC teams in the playoffs under that scenario.

PAC-12 has no one.
ACC has Clemson.
OU doesn’t have a championship game, which hurts badly.
I can’t imagine an undefeated OSU gets passed over, but it’s not beyond the realm of possibility, either.

In the scenario you just described, it's UGA, OU, Clemson, and OSU. If you are undefeated in a P-5, you are going to get the nod over someone who isn't. And that's the way it should be, because Bama and LSU had a chance, an undefeated team-- what? Had none?

 

There will never be a scenario where three teams from one conference get into a four team playoff.

 

Not until Tennessee is good enough to have a shot at the playoff and then 3 Big Ten schools get in and we are left out.
