Yeah that's what I'm saying. I think everybody should have that attitude. I like that hipsters like music, but I very much dislike their approach to "liking" music.
I'm kinda a fan of Sugar Ray. Don't tell anyone.
I was a music snob. I just don't care anymore. I may think what you like is awful but that's your prerogative. When people tell that Pearl Jam sucks, I just laugh, it used to incite one hell of an argument.
I like them too. As an old dude, it's funny when folks learn the type of music I like. I'm a head-banger from way back. Yhe Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, Rammstein, Breaking Benjamin, Ozzy, Smashing Pumpkins, Disturbed & Metallica are in my wheelhouse. I like old-school stuff like CCR, The Who, Van Halen, Boston, Kansas, G-n-R, Zeppelin, Motley Crue, Nirvana, Pink Floyd and The Scorpions are nice to listen to as well.
Some of their stuff is edgy. That's the only reason I included them. A new one of "shame" that I like is Jimmy Buffett.
I consider him a buddy already. Besides, his Brown-Eyed Girl reminds me of my daughters. Can't fault a dad for that. He hates Buffett, no?
I don't get how Elton John can make anyone's ashamed list. Dude is a freaking legend/talent and has made some incredible songs over the years. I hate that I wasn't alive to see him in his prime before he got fat and his voice was still capable of hitting all those notes.
