I haven't worked metal in some time, sad to say. Without a good belt.grinder, my desire to make knives went down hill. Hand filing sucks nuts. And I don't have the money right now to spend on a grinder. Your knives look great, and I like you maker's mark. A K with a little hard-on.
Yeah, I used a 1 by 42 grinder for a while, it got old fast. I got the 2 by 72 and it was night and day. I still hand sand a lot, which is a little therapeutic for me. BTW, it's a K with a F combined
Yeah, 1095 is on the borderline of oil quenchable steel. Almost need water to really harden it and it is not a fun thing to do, dipping it in water.
I bought some Parks 50, which is very thin viscosity oil, and not cheap, and smells bad when it burns.
