Violent criminals and rapists don't look like young children or their mothers, by and large. That's the route I chose from the start. Sorry you aren't sure that's true.

If only there were statistics that could put this into context.

There is a fundamental misunderstanding of government, here. Civics education has failed us. The FDA isn't inspecting food. That occurring doesn't mean food inspection is unnecessary.

And yet, food continues to be produced & sold.

Just as it did for eons before we hired an army of food inspectors.

This is pretty much how things were debated in Michigan right up until kids were drinking lead-contaminated water. Everything is fine right up until it isn't, and you can't fix some things once they happen.

Deregulating the food industry already killed a large Romaine producer in Cali

So let's imagine what simply not inspecting shit could do

The applause being eschewed here about these parts of govt being shut down isn't patriotism. It's sabotage with real lives being put at risk in the furtherance of batshit political ideas. Given that 5,000 deaths occur every year due to foodborne illnesses (and that's WITH FDA inspections), I'd say those workers aren't "unnecessary" nor do they need to be "terminated". It's [uck fay]ing lunacy to say so.*

I also thought the question of whether or not workers could be forced to work without pay was settled back in 1865.

*I'm pretty sure the person to whom this is directed has me on ignore. SAD!

This is entirely fair, and I withdraw the point.

I think the bigger issue is the possible misuse of those funds. Because GoFundMe...
