don't think Gregg has any interest in going to UT or Ga, Auburn or any other similar school. He's got it made and multimillionaire with a lifetime contract and travelling Wichita posse. They roll around like kings, he gets any player he needs for his system, plays in front of rowdy crowds, is in a fight for conference title every year and ncaa birth. Not every coach is greedy for $ like Gruden

 

Fun story I learned from an old media friend of mine in Knoxville.

Back when we hired Devoe, there was this military school coach who was interested in the job but we passed over. Yeah, Coach K.

 

This has wrecked my morning.

 

I believe I have heard that before. I think there is a horrific string of missed opportunities for basketball

In fairness, it's not that Devoe was a terrible coach. He was actually pretty good until the 3 point line was added and couldn't/wouldn't adjust. Nothing like passing on Self for Jerry Green.

DeVoe couldn’t recruit, but he was a coaching cat.

 

We also hired Wade Houston over Rick Majerus.

 

He did an incredible job at Navy.

Quite an atmosphere at West Va, who has had a better football and basketball program than UT for a long time
