This pisses me off. My fiancé is going to be a nurse and I cannot imagine the fit of rage I'd be in if that happened to her.
I heard she isn't pressing charges? I guess it's not my business, but I feel like people almost have an obligation to press charges in cases like this.
This. I read that the folks running the hospital were considering pressing charges. Hopefully they will. As far as the Cobb county cop goes, that shmuck retired before he could actually be fired. That was completely unacceptable and the chief handled it correctly.
It makes me mad, but we all hear that this stuff goes on. Sadly, many feel compelled to go along with an order from a cop even if they know it is illegal or being given under false pretenses.
And not face retaliation or resentment from cops in the future. Let's be honest, we know that is part of it, and that is really ****ed up and disturbing.
I'd think it would be inadmissible as evidence, anyway. The bigger deal is the nurse would probably be fired and then completely unhireable after that.
You're exactly right. And that is completely unfair, given she was being threatened with arrest and criminal charges.
The police say they have known about this since then end of July. The did squat until the nurse and her lawyer made public.
