Muschamp, T-Rob, Garner and Lance Thompson is probably the best defensive staff I can recall in quite a while. All four are elite recruiters too.

The offensive side isn't too shabby either with Gus, Lashlee and Craig.

 

Was curious, so I looked it up.

Muschamp originally signed with Texas in January '08 for $425k/yr, which made him the highest paid assistant ever. He signed a $900k/yr extension, and added the "Coach in Waiting" title, in November of 2008.

Monte was the first college assistant to make more than $1 million ($1.2mm). That 2009 assistant staff was the first to make more than $3 mm.

In 2009, six assistants made $500k or more. In 2014, 73 assistants made $500k+.

Maybe the second time around. He made $650k at UT.
