Our left tackle is a tossup, and I've never heard of either. Seems less than ideal. I take it back, Mincey transferred from Florida, which I vaguely remember.
Less than 72 hours now. I am reflexively panicking about the game being tied at kickoff. That irrational attachment to an outcome I can't affect... Feels right. Like a phantom limb appeased with a mirror trick. I am whole.
Excited but not nervous about Ball State. We won't get Georgia State'D by them. Should be a relaxing evening of viewership. Most nerve racking aspect of Thurs will be avoiding any key injuries. Now Pitt on the other hand....already bottling up the nervousness for that one. Sick and [uck fay]ing tired of perpetually losing these early season OOC P5 games. Between the UCLA, BYU, OU, Oregon series, ect I can't exactly remember the last time we actually beat the P5 OOC team on our schedule. Off the top of my head without scouring through old schedules it might have been all the way back from when California eviscerated in the Tennessee heat when I was still in freaking middle school...ugh EDIT: How could I forget about Dooley's crowning achievement at Tennessee when he pistol whipped his eventual successor Butch? Altough Cincinnati was not a P5 OCC win. People were happy for a few days, then Justin Hunter's ACL snapped like a twig the following week vs UF and the spiraling down the toilet for the Dooley era officially commenced.
We got NC State in Atlanta and VT in Bristol—the neutrals have mostly been okay, it’s the on-campus games that have killed us (even at home)
That one play completely deflated everything in me. I absolutely KNEW after that one play it was all over. Funny how the brain does that to you.
Awoke this morning to a client offering me 2 tickets to Florida and parking pass for free. Gonna let my wife and son fight to the death for who gets the second one.
I'm taking my son to the Florida game even though he has no interest in going or UT football in general. I figure if he can go and experience Neyland when it is rocking and not come away impressed and at least somewhat interested, I'll give up and home the youngest will like it.
