Ultimately, I like the idea of everyone sharing the cost. But I would have made that the destination of a 25 year roll out. I guess I am not burdened with "legacy" crap.

The GOP want congressional approval rather a change in law by presidential decree. Even if the house passes a delay, Reid will never allow a vote in the Senate that gives the GOP credit.
This is easily explained... We are dumbasses. We elect dumbasses. These elected dumbasses appoint dumbasses and confirm dumbasses. These dumbasses, in turn, hire dumbasses. The worker bee dumbasses then make dumbass decisions, and the dumbass ruling class expect the dumbass public to embrace it. It's simply a culture of dumbassery.
