This is actually a fantastic opportunity for him to get the players behind him and unite the team. He should go ballistic and tell Griff he's a man and he's 40 and to come after him. But. He won't. Likely because Griff might not have a lot of nice stuff to say if he felt betrayed.
I think Butch is a decent human. I also think he's a terrible football coach. [ddiapos] is a sniveling brat that sucked at life as well as coaching. Kiffin is a good coach that doesn't like people in general.
can't really argue with any of that. I'm just saying its a pretty good family atmosphere and locker room up there right now for a coach that would use media to taunt a player, with a brother on campus and active family, and that makes a bunch of broken promises to guys escorting recruits and families around. You'd think those players and families wouldn't be so supportive on recruiting weekends if they were miserable from broken promises, and you wouldn't have seen Dobbs, Kamara, Cam and many others keep hanging around. Butch isn't guaranteeing a starting position to anybody. That's not how he rolls. If broken promises consists of getting in a game or certain plays, welcome to sports. "We are gonna get you the ball this weekend" is a common phrase for hoops or football for coaches trying to get players ready. My youngest plays for Bernard Pollard here in Nashville (if anybody has a kid that is a HS db, they should check out myproscout.com) and he tells all the guys they are getting the ball this week. Game situations and other factors mean it doesn't happen sometime, or maybe a kid takes off plays in practice or puts out bad body language in the game and you change your mind. Kiffin made promises in order to land some big names, and many, many coaches do. Butch doesn't. The word would get to the new recruits quickly and there are plenty in mid Tn that know a lot of kids on the team right now. He promises if you work hard and do what you are supposed to do on and off the field, you will get a shot to play. His message is as consistent as his tiresome clichés or annoying use of the word "individuals"
So tell me who he promised and what. Can't wait to hear it. More iform for Hurd? Promised Jack Jones starting guard position over Roberson or Boulware or promised Jack that he wouldnt play Trey at guard? Give me some soap opera stuff. I want to be entertained. I got a kid on the sidelines and live 2 doors down from a rs freshman OL in Brentwood. Enlighten me.
If they want to make the decision to go public they certainly can. I'm not going to do it for them. Especially not for some braggart that can't manage to stick to one screen name because he continuously makes a fool of himself. I'll you I've never spoke to Hurd.
When you can't answer a legit question, make it personal. And I had to switch names because the other was banned.
I don't really care to be honest. That's where I grew up off Ridgeway road. Certain Memphis coaches and schools have always despised UT.
Ok so while at cincy, Butch promised something to someone in one of the most corrupt HS sports areas around and they banned him. I'm familiar with what he's currently telling some kids. Not familiar with whatever you are referencing.
Could see it from a mile away as soon as he started mentioning middle Tennessee, his connections to the program, and taking up for Butch. I'm looking forward to more stories about flights with coaches.
