i wonder what official visitors will hear about Chaney/Dooley

Not seeing the knocked cold scenario. If your noggin is scrambled, wouldn't be smart to move to a position where it's your job to hit ball carriers with as much force as possible.

 

I'm just throwing out a possible idea for why he went from all-world to behind a walk-on.

 

I could be wrong, and I'm not claiming Dooley knows what he's doing, but i really don't think there are any more position changes than there have ever been.

I don't think there has ever been this many underclassmen position changes. this isn't like Tavio Henson, JJ McClesky, or Corey Larkins switching positions because we need able body guys to field a team, this is just randomly sending young contributors to defense because you anticipate not needing them....

 

Moving Dallas to defense before all those incoming freshmen are even on campus does seem a little strange. I mean, he was good enough to get meaningful PT last year, but now he's a scrub? Very odd.

 

I dunno, I just think there's plenty of valid criticisms of Dooley without having to invent them.

I agree, I just don't know why Fugate asked to be moved from FB to LB.

 

Almost positive Fugate asked for the move. I'm still confused on how he sat the last ten games or so.

 

He asked for it because he thought they were going to go away from a FB entirely I guess, or he didn't ask for it and that's what people were told.

 

Don't understand why we didn't try to convert him to an H-back.

 

None of these guys has done jack shit, and they have had plenty of opportunity. This is more about the over all lack of talent and depth than anything else. Got to recruit to win.

 

Could be the latter, but more likely the former. Judging by the spring I think they were planning on going with two TEs more than a FB.

 

I think they were looking at Downs for that role. Clear being dismissed has probably put a major dent in their plans.

 

Also, Fugate ended spring second team LB which is better than backup FB.
