Who recruited Maurer? Who recruits the QB position? Sorry for being an ignorant. Was Shrout and Maurer a take because the board was empty?
I believe both were Helton's guys. Ultimately Pruitt is responsible for who he delegates to, but I'm totally throwing Helton under the bus.
USC is garbage, they beat a mediocre Stanford team and pollsters were falling all over themselves to put USC back in the top 25.
Tennessee is kinda garbage too though... nobody’s chomping at the bit to put them in any poll except The Bottom 10....
To be fair, Western Michigan is still being pulled along by the rowing of PJ Fleck. Hard to beat that
My take from yesterday. The key was having Butilli (sp). He was getting the dline lined up properly for the first time all year. Something that wasn’t seen the previous 2 games. Made a huge difference. The oline blocked better with the starting 5 that were out there. Not as many miscommunications as previously seen. Watching from the end zone you could plainly see holes open but there were times the back made the wrong cut. All of these things are correctable. It’s also the first time in years that we have beat a team like this the way we should have. That was an improvement.
I suspect Bituli might have been the difference between going 0-2 and 2-0, but I guess we will never know.
I really did like the OL combination we had. That was a lot of size out there. Hope they stick with that moving forward. Bituli certainly looked to get them lined up right. Hoping he can continue to get healthier. He still looked a little gimpy out there.
Maybe the Ga State game. If all he did was light a fire under some people. BYU was solely on JG, IMO.
I think being properly lined up would have made a big difference, and he is the guy who does that best. Keep in mind one more stop against BYU would have changed that game in regulation.
