I had heard we were looking for an AD at a school with a football program. I suppose this qualifies.
I'm efforting to find out more as I type.
Apparently, it's Dave Hart, not David. Posters on VQ say he runs the show at Bama and is the guy primarily responsible for bringing in Saban. Whether that's true, I have no idea.
AD in waiting at Bama.
We have offered.
At surface level it looks like a very nice get.
Can we make it a site rule not to quote anything Hyams says?
Even if he's right about this one.
Sounds like it would be a steal. We must be offering some major cash.
Is this the guy who had a bunch of issues at Florida State?
its about time we offer someone serious cash. we go cheap with every damn hire, we have money, freakin spend it
He was at FSU at one time. Don't know about the issues.
Bama grad. Don't know how much that will play into his decision making. He's basically COO of Bama athletics.
Don't know much about him but if he was/is responsible for some key hires, I'm hopeful.
And there is a meltdown.
My imaginary world of gorillas and happiness that UT fans are not that stupid has been completely destroyed since Nov 1, 2008.
Clashed with the school president and was run out of town because of it. He upgraded sports across the board at FSU.
and did we actually fire Blackburn or he quit?
I understand Blackburn quitting if he got passed over. I'm not sure why he would be fired.
Where is the meltdown, cardinal? On other sites? I don't know enough to "meltdown."
Volnation doesn't seem thrilled.
They just mill around waiting to be outraged at every turn, so I'm not surprised.
Twitter doesn't seem overly happy about it. The whole Bama thing plus the FSU thing.
But it's business...
hard to use that joint as a barometer. The latest Kiffin's recruits thread being dominated by the two idiots, Gibbs and Vegas, is a pretty telltale sign of where the place is today. I'm not saying it's because many left and came over here, it has devolved into garbage over the past few years.
