I hate this story. It's incredibly misleading. The main point it to keep us from contaminating other places, which would make it harder to determine if we actually found life or not that wasn't from Earth. If you read the actual usajobs listing, it is very much geared towards maintaining sterility of the craft throughout the mission. They write it up like they're paying someone to fight ET's.
