I didn't like the way they went about the suicide thing, but I have no issues with them doing what they want on their site. I tried the place out- not for me. I just didn't get the common over the top posting nature of many posters. I'm not against having a good time or being boisterous. I guess I'm too old and out of touch to get the level of that over there. But that's ok. No big deal. Have at it guys;it doesn't effect me. I can simply not go to the site. I wish them much success.

If you were on a Tennessee roster between 04-10, there was a good chance opiates became your norm at some point. From what I gather, any type of pain got you several refills of hard stuff.

 

The edited part of the post was me asking the boards opinion of what the implications of having "publications" like FL98 contacting recruits and commits.

No diss to them. But let's face it, they are like a combination of Vol Nation and 4chan. The threads there regularly contain harsh racist remarks and "jokes", porn, and generally foul content. Anything goes over there. So to have them "interviewing" our recruits is to potentially expose those recruits to an embarrassing aspect of our fan base.

There is a paradox of sorts with their strange attitude of being racist towards, while still worshiping, these young black men. It is a viewpoint that is common amongst young, southern, white fraternity types.

I'm not suggesting that it might cost us a recruit. But it is at a minimum an odd situation. Where Sabanocchio is outright bizarre, these guys could be perceived as offensive. In short, are these the people we want "interviewing" our recruits?

The reason I edited it out is because this isn't a new topic, and it has been discussed with other people at the center of it (Sabanocchio). Ultimately, nothing can be done nor should it. No one person or group has been appointed the moral arbiter of all things Vols. It's still unsettling to me to see Trent Flubbs and Jared interviewing the most elite commitment the Vols have gotten in 10+ years.

That is a damn shame. Anyone who was involved in that needs to be thrown in jail. It's no different than drug dealing, and in fact, it's worse. With a drug dealer, you know what you're doing is wrong. Someone who is with the university giving players drugs lends legitimacy to the act. It's subversive.
