Sheridan gets his promotion now, which leaves no open spots. If Martinez leaves, he's most likely replaced by Terry Fair. If Azzanni and Mahoney leave, Debord takes over the ol and there's a spot to fill.
Why is Sheridan automatically promotable. Are GAs typically converted directly to assistants? Has he remotely shown he deserved the job? Has Dobbs footwork improved at all with him?
Wouldn't that leave us a coach short? By number any way? 4 leave 3 hired, promoted, or given an extra duty I may be reading it wrong.
I even see it as two spots. Azzani opens up WR. Elder opens up TE. Martinez opens up DB. Three spots open. Fair is hired. Two spots open. Debord slides over to fill Mahoney's spot but that opens up QB. Still two spots open. Did I mess that up?
Depends on the level of expectation and set "standard", Debozo praises Sheridan so apparently he's fine w/ where the bar is
You may have it. I read it as 4 coaches leaving with 3 taking over their roles. (1 promotion, 2 new hires (Fair and ?) And Debord remaining as OC and now OL coach)
Sheridan coached qbs as a GA, Debord was the de facto ol coach. You can have 9 assistants. 4 leave, a GA is promoted and DeBord moves to ol/oc. That leaves two spots. Fair takes dbs and the other spot to be filled by a wr or te coach.
how does that not leave three spots? Four leave, one is promoted? 4-1=3 Am I missing something obvious?
Tennessee essentially had a 10 person staff last year, with Sheridan coaching qbs. Four leave, Sheridan is promoted to qb coach. Debord goes to ol and oc. You're taking up 2 spots there. I know you're only hiring one, but you're eliminating two of nine position openings.
