That's right. He's OC/QB now. He'll be OC/OL later. But with Mahoney leaving that opens up a spot for Sheridan. That leaves Azzani and Elder's spots still available (assuming Fair fills Martinez's).
The way Im seeing it, you have the groups covered but you are doing it with 8 coaches instead of 9. Debord OC/OL Sheridan QB Gilliespe RB New Hire WR TEs (possibly) Jancek DC Stripling DL Thig LB Fair DB If those four leave to get 9 assistant coaches they will need to Promote Sherdian Hire Fair Hire 2 more coaches to cover WR/TE/STs With Debord taking OL
The poor guy is being a perfect gentleman over here in a historically awkward situation. There's a possibility that he could be playing in relief in Week 17 while simultaneously playing for the all-time win record...
Is there anyway in this green and blue hell that Debord would just move to OL and someone else come in for OC? No? Okay then.
Congrats to Coach Elder. Making a jump from a position coach to a head coach is a huge transition, but I wish him the best. I'm glad to see him gone now, because his stock wasn't going to improve working for this group of morons.
So, special teams has pretty much by far been the best aspect of Butch Jones's teams here. And now our ST coach is leaving...
Butch says he divides each unit up with a different coach Dino wonder how important Elder was to that?
If we still have DeBord, Jancek and head clown, what difference do the rest make, except recruiting. The coaching is going to suck.
It shouldn't be a huge loss to a big program but there's a very good chance Butch hires someone much worse than him. His system is infallible
Hubbs suggested that Sheridan will coach QBs and Debord will take TE's and possibly Tackles (says he was doing a lot with the OL anyway)
