The big day looms near as this Friday the 30th I go in for a radical back surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. It is an eight hour procedure which will involve breaking my spine from top to bottom and inserting rods with about 50 screws the length of the spine. My surgeon, Alex Powers, MD, is the only one in the world doing this procedure, and claims a 100% success rate! Well one guy did die from pneumonia, but he looked nice and straight in his casket. I will require a blood transfusion due to amount of blood loss, will spend minimum of two days in ICU, a week in hospital and three weeks in-patient physical therapy. They tell me there will be much pain. Anyone who happens to be in the Winston-Salem area is welcome to stop by. I will be there alone much of the time because one of our dogs chose this time to contract cancer, and my wife will have to deal with that. Jayvols has my number, and if he is willing, he has my permission to give it to anyone. Or message me here before Thurs. Any prayers will be appreciated.

You remain in my prayers. I'll be rolling through Winston-Salem on the 31st. If it's ok, I'll stop by. I know I may not get to see you, but I can visit with your wife & bring her some food or anything she might need. If you need something done at your house, let me know. NY is down with that as well.
