So what if they aren't students? What can the police do? Free speech and state property would seem to limit them... Example: I find the sort of sidewalk preachers that show up to campuses deeply offensive in many ways. I don't see how they are doing anything illegal though.
This is the adult way to look at it. Their way is that offends me so it can not be tolerated, even though Colleges should be a marketplace for ideas. Which includes even the shitty offensive and dumbass ones.
I heard someone on the radio either yesterday or Sunday that said it would have been interesting to see if the football team and the HFC would have thought this as serious if they were playing for the east crown this week.
The players already said if they were having a better season they wouldn't do this. They freely admit that.
If you listen closely, there's the sound of hundreds, if not thousands, of students readying their transcripts to go to another school.
What's this shit about a professor having a reporter working for ESPN assaulted while trying to cover the protest.
First person that gets arrested for "hurtful speech" should immediately call the ACLU (I know, bad words around here ) or their favorite Constitutional Lawyer and sue the ever loving ****ity **** out of Missouri, the police and the state government.
Ya, she needs to be terminated. She violated that reporter's first amendment rights at best. And she's a JOURNALISM professor.
Not buying it. Players and coach alike gave the hunger strike as the primary reason for their involvement, in an effort to end it. A good season isn't changing that
Probably never know but its a lot easier to jump line when you are not putting anything of worth in jeopardy.
