We got Acorn and BritBox cheap on a Prime Day deal, and have been watching it a lot recently. Some pretty good stuff there if you're much of a fan of British or ANZ tele.

The wife likes the Brit/ANZ detective-type shows. At least on the services we have. She is pizzed when she can only watch 1 or 2 seasons. But not enuff to subscribe to Acorn/Britbox to see 3->. She has me dvring some of those that show up on PBS, that we never paid attention to until recently.

We're catching up on the MCU right now. We just finished Ms. Marvel. Can someone tell me why I wasn't supposed to like it or She Hulk? Seems like it was popular to hate both of those.

I didn't mind either one of them, they just aren't at the top of my favorite lists either.

People love to hate the cgi on marvel movies/shows, which just seems like nitpicking.

If you didn’t think she hulk was the greatest thing ever you were a sexist pig. Think the actress had some pretty incendiary takes on the subject at the time too.

Think Bre Larson had some stupid quotes of her own when her movie came out basically saying the same thing. Basically the leads poisoned the well from the jump and the internet did what the internet does in response.

I forgot about She Hulk's actress being a dumbass.

Brie Larson said something along the lines of she didn't care what white nerds think about her marvel movies, which is fine but that's kind of the majority of the fanbase. She also was rumored to have been miserable to work with

I think that may be the only Marvel series I did not watch in its entirety. Not because of any social commentary, etc. I just could not get into it. The whole She-Hulk in a lawyer suit was probably just over my head. I can't tell you when I stopped watching it.

Glad I missed the actress's comments I guess. I enjoyed it.

As far as Brie Larson, y'all know she's in the series for about 10-15 seconds as a cameo, end credits thingy right at the end?

Oh and to be fair, there was scant chance of finding a male character with an IQ above room temperature or wasn't a creepy misogynist in some way throughout She Hulk outside of Bruce maybe. That wasn't lost on me, but I have taken to writing off such as pandering. Girls need fantasies too.

That is all that matters. If you enjoyed it.

    No, I did not.

Is it bad that I had to Goggle "Brie Larson", just to see what she looked like, before I answered?

No, I was vaguely aware she was an actress before landing the Captain Marvel role. I probably saw her in other things before, but the name never stuck.

I’ve enjoyed Pitt on Max. And The Agency on Paramount was decent. I feel like it’s at high risk of jumping the shark in season 2 though.

The problem is that your audience is 80% male. I didn't watch it, simply because I am about superheroed out. And the little snippets I did see didn't make me want to watch it.

Edit: I was WRONG. I am shocked, the viewership split is more 55/45 men. Never would have guessed it was that close.

My son, who he and I tend to think alike, said both were terrible and he couldn't make it through first couple of episodes of either.

I did think The Marvels was much better than what the average person thought about it though. Had some very cheesy lines, but the portal fight scene was awesome.

I also think the bracelets (and the 10 rings) are gonna come into play bigly for Doomsday.

My wife and I actually really enjoyed She-Hulk until the last episode or two; the ending is absolutely abysmal.

The only super hero lawyer I care about is Harvey Birdman.

Are we talking about the Adult Swim version in early 2000's or the old school version from late 1960's? ("early" and "late" is as close as I can get.)

The late 1960 version had that Space Ghostish style and was a Saturday morning staple for my brothers and I.

I was referring to the Adult Swim version. I've seen the classic Birdman cartoons, was there a lawyer one from the 60's as well?
